Málaga

The city of Málaga, capital of the province with the same name, is situated at the western end of the Mediterranean Sea in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, about 100 km east of the Strait of Gibraltar. With a population of almost 580,000 inhabitants, it is the second most populous city in Andalusia and the sixth most populous in Spain. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BCE, it is also one of the oldest cities in Europe.

Beyond its sunny beaches, this city on the shores of the Mediterranean has a fascinating cultural life. The place where the genius Pablo Picasso was born has reinvented itself in recent years and opened museums for all tastes (it has the only Pompidou Centre outside France).

In recent years Málaga has joined the ranks of municipalities that have traditionally received residential tourism, such as Marbella and Benahavís, thanks to an improvement in the cultural and leisure activities offered, the city´s commitment to a ´smart´ model, and urban planning adapted to current needs. Strolling pleasantly through this increasingly fashionable city you discover how the Alcazaba, the Gibralfaro Castle and the Cathedral blend with alternative urban art districts such as Soho, with terraces where you can have brunch, and emblematic streets for shopping lovers.
