Antequera

The municipality of Antequera is characterised by its large physical area (810.39 km2).  It is the largest municipality in Malaga and one of the largest in Spain. From its past it preserves an extensive archaeological and architectural heritage, notably, the ancient burial grounds of the Dolmen of Menga, Viera and El Romeral, as well as numerous churches, convents and palaces from different periods and styles.  Nearby is the vast nature preserve of El Torcal, which, due to its flora, fauna and landscape, contains one of the most impressive samples of karstic landscapes - dramatic limestone tower rock formations and caverns, in Europe.

Due to its strategic location in the centre of Andalusia, with four airports located approximately one hour away and rail transport to the Port of Algeciras, Antequera is emerging as an important logistics infrastructure centre, with several business parks and the new logistics centre of Andalusia.
